Welcome to the 1st Ashton in Makerfield Boys Brigade website, this is where you can read the latest news about whats happened in the Boys Brigade so far. This year so far we have had a sponsored bike ride, cross country, swimming gala, remembrance Sunday. Next month hopefully the football competitions will take place and many more to come.
125 mile race

on the 4th of october the 1st ashton boys brigade took part in an event in order to raise money for the derrien house charity, we had to race 125 miles on bikes through the night, the significance of the number 125 is to celebrate 125 years of the boys brigade.
at about 8 o'clock in the evening we started this gruelling task by organising ourselves into teams and taking turns of half an hour each until we reached the 125 mile goal.
when not on the bike we had amusements to keep us satisfied through the night such as xbox 360's, films, cards and ping pong, we even had refreshments from jonathan hooton who burnt all our food, numpty.
but aside all that we all had a great night and thoroughly enjoyed it, the best part was that the race went down to the wire between all the teams and it ended up with the great josh vermiglios team being the winners.
we finished at 4 in the morning and instead of sleeping we ended up messing about in the other hall, we all got asleep at about half past six and had to get up at 7 for parade and it wasnt our best one, but it was great and im sure if you asked everyone, they would all tsay they would do it again.

For School ages Y1 - Y3 we meet
at St Thomas's Primary School in Hodnet Drive
on Tuesdays 6:00pm till 7:15pm
Junior Section:
For School ages Y4 - Y6 we meet
at St Thomas's Primary School in Hodnet Drive
on Wednesdays 6:30pm till 8:00pm
Company & Senior Section:
For School ages Y7+ we meet
at St Thomas's Primary School in Hodnet Drive
on Tuesdays 7:15pm till 9:30pm and
at St Thomas's Church Hall in Warrington Road on Friday 7:00pm till 9:00pm.
